ParaisoParaiso Riesling

Cool climate Riesling from the Highlands, crafted in a food-friendly Alsacian style, on the drier side.

GOLD MEDAL – Los Angeles International Wine Competition

Here’s one tasting note that might sound strange, but give it a shot: Lemon Jolly Rancher. This wine has some of the beeswax viscous texture that defines Alsacian rieslings, of course from California this is a nice treat.

It’s on the dry side of Riesling and shows wonderful acidity cuddled by apricot and peach fruits. There’s a hint of lime on the finish. Perhaps there is a trace of residual sugar, but barely perceptible if any, yet the wine is rich and luscious with some weight on the palate.

Food Pairing: Asian food! Anything spicy and hot! Serve it next to your hotwings at the Super Bowl, or a perfect accompaniment to sushi.

Livernano Chianti Classico 2005

Nose is moderately effusive with dark fruit. 20% Merlot is a great addition, quite noticeable and adds its familiar edge. Sangiovese has the nice tangy component, some earthiness, overall a great pairing with pasta, pizza, and tomato-based light dishes.

Renwood Zinafadel Jack Rabbit Flat 2008

Renwood

Tasty wine, bright red fruits held in check by a smoky, earthy, peppery core. Decent acidity keeps it fresh. Slightly tannic on the finish.
