Stone IRS Russian Imperial Stout

Stone Imperial Russian Stout is so thick, rich and well, sinful, you might worry that youll be doomed to the fiery pits just for thinking about a sip. Rest assured, however, that even though this seemingly pernicious brew is indeed as black as sin, we guarantee that no actual sin was committed in making it… youll have to add that on your own. This massive and intensely aromatic beer abounds with notes of anise, black currants, coffee, and roastiness, and its heavy palate is nothing to be trifled with! BeerAdvocate: 97, RateBeer: 100

Ballast Point Sculpin Imperial IPA

The Sculpin is a testament to our humble beginnings as Home Brew Mart. It showcases bright flavors and aromas of apricot, peach, mango & lemon. The lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops. This delicious Ballast Point Ale won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup 2010 in the International Pale Ale category. The Sculpin fish has poisonous spikes on its fins that can give a strong sting. Ironically, the meat from a Sculpin is considered some of the tastiest. Something that has a sting but tastes great, sounds like a Ballast Point India Pale Ale.

Stone Go To Session IPA

Since Day One, weve been abundantly forthright and fully transparent about our lust for hops. Its led us to craft many an IPA, most of them imperial—some intense for their time and all timeless in their intensity. For Stone Go To IPA, we are embracing our hop obsession in a new way, funneling an abundance of lupulin-borne bitterness into a session IPA delivering all the fruity, piney character of a much bigger IPA. To accomplish this, we employed hop bursting, a new technique wherein an irrational amount of hops is added during the final phase of the brewing process to coax out extreme flavors and aromas while also imparting a burst of desirably pleasant bitterness. The result is an Alpha-acid-rich beer that fans can enjoy more of without missing out on the assertive hop character you, like us, crave. So, sit back and go two with your new everyday go-to IPA and bask along with us in the glory of the almighty hop.

Deschutes Anniversary Black Butte XXV 2013 Porter

This year, Deschutes Brewery is toasting 25 years with the 6th vintage of its imperial porter, Black Butte XXV. In order to celebrate in style, this iteration of the annual beer amps it up with the addition of Theo’s cocoa nibs, Mission figs and Medjool dates. The bourbon barrel aged portion of the beer was increased by 20 percent over past versions of this anniversary brew, and drinkers of Black Butte XXV will notice complex notes of vanilla, tart and dried fruit, and chocolate. With everything that’s going on in the flavor profile of this beer, you may have to raise several toasts just to experience it all. “Twenty-five years in business is a significant milestone for us, and our team wanted to create an anniversary brew that truly marked the occasion,” said Cam O’Connor, brewmaster for Deschutes Brewery. “Not only did we increase the aging amount in barrels for this beer, but we soured a small portion of the final blend. We added a bunch of new ingredients, including black currants. I think fans will find that there are many layers of delicious complexity in this year’s version.” Beer Advocate: 95 World Class, RateBeer: 100 11% ABV, 55 IBUs

River City Red Ale

The River City Red label says it all, “Wee Bit Malty – Crisp and Clean.” That’s the short version, but if you want to know a bit more, we can do that too. This beer is made from five different malted, two-row barley grains to give it just the right caramel red color, then we use two different hop varieties – Nugget Hops for flavor and Liberty Hops for aroma. The beer is well balanced between the sweetness of the malted barley and the bite of the hops. Clean on the palate, this beer goes well with almost any food or makes a great session beer. We can debate about whether it fits into a red, amber or Scottish category, but we can’t debate its drinkability. O.G. – 13.6 / I.B.U. – 16 / A.B.V. – 5.6%

Firestone Walker Lil Opal Saison 2014

Said Barrelworks Director Jeffers Richardson, “Lil Opal, our second bottled offering of 2014, is a brett’d saison released in the spring to celebrate the vernal season. This vintage release was aged for 14 months in French and American oak barrels. The maturation time expresses Lil Opal’s oak signature; refines both the spicy and fruity yeast notes; and refreshes the palate with a soft, light acidity.” 2014 Lil Opal – Blended by Barrelworks Director Jeffers Richardson and Master Blender Jim Crooks Maturation: 14 months in French (75%) and American oak (25%) barrels ABV: 5.9% IBU: 11 Color: 4.8 SRM pH: 3.9 T.A.: 4.1 g/L Flora: Brettanomyces Lambicus, Lactobacillus Brevis
