Dear Enotecans,

Hey everyone, as you have noticed when you visit Enoteca our new expansion is open and ready to serve.  Woo hoo, yeah Post Falls!  Our little drinkery now has gourmet cocktails available and always stellar beers on tap and now we have added the wine list.  We still want you to be able to explore the world of wine before you find the right one to take home and now we have expanded the horizon of choices!  Check out our wine list for by the glass and flight options. It gets better, we are open later Friday and Saturday and if you find yourself parched halfway through the week, come by and we will be happy to serve you!  We’ve included the current wine list at the end of this email.

Wine Flights Any Time

In the past, our wine flights have been limited to Friday and Saturday.  Now that we have the full bar open, with bar tending staff in house from 4pm until closing time we can offer flights and wine by the glass every day.  Right now closing time is about 10 pm Thursday-Saturday, depending on if folks are showing up for the later hours.

Keep an eye on the email newsletters as we will be featuring some very special and interesting flights in the near future.  The new format gives us some flexibility to bring you more interesting and exciting beverage options.

The flight samples will be poured as 2 oz. tasting samples.  We’re starting with sample prices that approximate what our old flights used to be, but with this format you can order exactly what you want, so if you want higher end samples, you can get those, or if you want to stick to the value priced samples, you can do that too!

You can check out our current wine list on our website here, any time.

The wine list will change regularly, popular wines can stick around, special wines can be brought on from time to time, so stop by any time you feel like wine and we will have plenty of options for you!

You Like Wine, He/She/They Don’t?  We have you covered.

Imagine a scenario in which you want to taste some incredible wine, but your husband/wife/partner/friend/client does not like wine.  With our full-time wine selection, you can come have what you want, and your accompaniment can enjoy beer or any type of spirits, including mixed drinks, cocktails, whiskey, etc.  We also have a fantastic selection of beer on tap to enjoy by the Pint or create your own Flight.

The Current Wine List

1: Amity Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Glass: $9.00 / Sample: $3.00

The aromas and flavors of red and dark fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, along with notes of spice and earthiness underneath, best characterize our Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. This wonderfully textured version, features brilliant acidity and immense length.

Chuck Hill Pick for Super Value.

Double Gold from Oregon Wine Awards, April 2012.

2: Guenoc Victorian Claret North Coast

Glass: $7.00 / Sample: $3.00

The Guenoc North Coast Victorian Claret is a complex blend of our award winning wines. Dark ruby in color, the wine has a wonderful fruity nose bringing on black cherry, plum, and blueberry aromas. Rich and soft on the palate, the hints of vanilla and nutmeg, from aging in 50% American and French Oak, add to the complexity and the long smooth finish. The wine pairs well with any meat dish or just on its own.

Killer Bee Merlot3: Killer Bee Merlot

Glass: $5.00 / Sample: $2.00

Deep red with violet tones. On the nose look for complex aromas including partially dried fruit, toffee, and spice. This concentrated flavor wine has mature smooth tannins to round it out. Pair with pasta, medium pungency cheese, and barbecue!

4: Valentin Bianchi New Age White Blend

Glass: $5.00 / Sample: $2.00

Valentin Eduardo Bianchi has added a new style to its new world, refreshing wines. Bianchi, also known as Tincho, a term of affection that loosely translated means “young Valentin,” began creating new twists to his New Age White. His new wine cocktail rapidly caught on with the restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the trend Setting Buenos Aires. Tinto became the name of his popular concoction made up of New Age White on the rocks with a slice of lime. Tincho has become an Argentine tradition that is catching on here in the United States.

88 PTS WILFRED WONG. Fun to drink, the New Age Vino Bianco is fresh and fun with a bit of spritziness on the palate; give this a good chill with a slice of lime.

5: Scharffenberger Brut Sparkling

Glass: $10.00 / Sample: $4.00

90 PTS WINE SPECTATOR. With the Scharffenberger Brut, bright aromas of green apple & lime lead to vibrant, layered flavors of citrus, anise and creamy vanilla.

6: Reininger Helix Aspersa White Blend Columbia Valley

Glass: $7.00 / Sample: $3.00

Island, Prairie, Orchard and Grove.

Tropical tones of papaya and pineapple woven with mid- summer prairie grass, floating slices of early season pears and garnished with orange blossom. With a medium mouth feel, perfect balance and acidity, this relaxing/sensual getaway pairs wonderfully with scallops, halibut, fruit and cheeses. -Chuck Reininger

65% Chardonnay, 23% Viognier, 12% Semillion

7: Terra Blanca Killer Kiss Me Deadly Red

Glass: $4.00 / Sample: $1.00

It is a blend of Cabernet, Syrah and Merlot offers lovely aromas and flavors of juicy blueberry, blackberry, bramble and spice. Smooth, easy and of medium weight, the wine continues to deliver berries and plum with just a hint of smoke through the long, lovely finish.

We shared a bottle of this last night and it was fantastic! Big, bold, and full of powerful flavors. At first the boldness was a little smokey but as it decanted the smokiness smoothed out and it integrated into a nice smooth rich fruity wine.
