Pumpkin Beer Patch

Dear Enotecans,

It’s Pumpkin Beer season! This is a resend due to the new system, you may have already seen some of this information. We did run out of Pumpkin Beers the first week, but now we have them back in stock, and some new ones are in. You’ve been asking for them, today they arrived! The beeradvocate.com Pumpkin Ale page has the best overall description:

Often released as a fall seasonal, Pumpkin Ales are quite varied. Some brewers opt to add hand-cut pumpkins and drop them in the mash, while others use puree or pumpkin flavoring. These beers also tend to be spiced with pumpkin pie spices, like: ground ginger, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, and allspice. Pumpkin Ales are typically mild, with little to no bitterness, a malty backbone, with some spice often taking the lead. Many will contain a starchy, slightly thick-ish, mouthfeel too. In our opinion, best versions use real pumpkin, while roasting the pumpkin can also add tremendous depth of character for even better results, though both methods are time-consuming and tend to drive brewmasters insane.

Here’s what we have available – some are on order and coming soon, some are already here.

Place an order for what you’d like and we’ll do our best to get what you want.

If you’re not sure what to try, let me recommend the Southern Tier Pumking, get one 22 oz bottle and see what a good quality Pumpkin beer is about. Maybe it will be your thing!

BeerSam Adams Double Pumpkin (Keg Only)

Double is a variation on their Harvest Pumpkin Ale.

Always looking to try something new, this year we decided to brew a variation of our Harvest Pumpkin Ale. The result is Samuel Adams Double Pumpkin Ale, in which we add more pumpkin and more spices to our original pumpkin brew. At a higher alcohol level, this beer is strong and full of the flavors we love during this time of year. We brew with real pumpkin, which adds a full body and sweetness to this dark, reddish-amber brew. Deep roasted malts, including smoked malt, lend a distinct roasted character, while traditional pumpkin pie spices give the beer its spice note.

BeerSouthern Tier Pumking 22oz

Pumking is an ode to PĂșca, a creature of Celtic folklore, who is both feared and respected by those who believe in it. PĂșca is said to waylay travelers throughout the night, tossing them on its back, and providing them the ride of their lives, from which they return forever changed! Brewed in the spirit of All Hallows Eve, a time of year when spirits can make contact with the physical world and when magic is most potent. Pour Pumking into a goblet and allow it’s alluring spirit to overflow. As spicy aromas present themselves, let its deep copper color entrance you as your journey into this mystical brew has just begun. As the first drops touch your tongue a magical spell will bewitch your taste buds making it difficult to escape. This beer is brewed with pagan spirit yet should be enjoyed responsibly.
