Enjoy these hand picked selections, we’re striving to find unique and special bottles for Wine & Beer club so that every month is a new Adventure!

Each of these bottles of wine is designed to go well with your Thanksgiving dinner.  Come pick these up and enjoy with family, friends and a meal!

 

Friday Wine Flight! Check it out we have restored the Friday Wine Flight! This week we’re pouring 3 Club Wines. Only $12, enjoy 3 oz. each of 3 delicious wines. If you find a favorite, you can buy a glass pour, and we have more retail bottles available.

 

What is Member Monday?

Member Monday means every Monday, Members who get wine and/or beer of the month subscription can come to the Enoteca Drinkery & Refuge for Buy 1/Get 1 Free drinks! Choose from our rotating Wine by the Glass List, if you like beer we feature rotating 11 Tap Handles of Craft Beer, and we also sport quality Scotch and Bourbon, and make excellent historic mixed drinks and original cocktails. Member Monday is pretty straight forward, but you can read the fine print here.

 

No Corkage for Members!

Wine & Beer Club Members have a new benefit to membership. Members can now drink any wine and beer from our retail store in the Drinkery & Refuge with no corkage fee! Simply bring your selection to the bar tender and he will add it to your tab and set you up with glassware and open the beer or wine. He’ll also decant a bottle of wine for you if you choose. The wine club is a great way to learn about wine and beer, experience a variety of unique wine & beer, broadening your horizons. If you’re a novice to wine, the Wine of the Month Club will expose you to all sorts of tasty bottles and you’ll be an expert in no time! If you’re more of a wine connoisseur, try the higher end club selections to automatically own highly recommended bottles. Come by this weekend and try a few free tastes to get an idea what the different levels are about!

Budget Wine Club

Hayes Valley Sauvignon Blanc
(Central Coast, California)Color is a very pale straw and crystal clear. On the nose, aromas of bright citrus fruits dominate, along with wet grass and lemon rind. A mouth-watering acidity on the palate gives way to grapefruits, herbs and lime rinds.

80% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Semillon

 

Hayes Valley Meritage
(Central Coast, California)A beautiful dark ruby purple. Lots of fruit on nose; currants, huckleberries, blueberries and dark cherry. A hint of vanilla and green pepper. On the mouth, the huckleberries stand out along with a beautiful spice. Medium tannins and acidity. A nice smooth finish with a hint of vanilla.

40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot, 10% Malbec

 

Vintage Club

Chateau Le Pradey Sainte-Croix-du-Mont Bordeaux Blanc
(Bordeaux, France)

Vanilla and eucalyptus on the nose. Sweet orange liquor on palate infused with bouquet and creamy marshmallows! So good!

An elegant nose of candied lemon peel and white flowers. Flavors of peach and the subtle botrytis notes of marmalade envelop the palate. This has a pleasing weight, cut-through by a dart of acidity.

Pairs perfectly with Turkey and Cranberries!

90% Semillon and 10% Sauv Blanc

 

Chateau Montfaucon Côtes du Rhône
(Rhone Valley, France)The Cotes du Rhône is a classic of Montfaucon. The focus is to express with finesse and elegance the intense fruit characteristics that Côtes du Rhône terroir can offer.

The wine is a blend of typical Rhône grape varieties Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan. It has been fermented and aged in concrete tanks only, without any influence from oak barrels.

At tasting, the wine reveals beautiful red fruit aromas: cherries, blackcurrant, and raspberries with violets and spices. You can feel the importance of the blend in the freshness, roundness and purity of this wine, which also makes it easy to access, a true pleasure to enjoy with a variety of red and white meat dishes and even barbecue.

50 % Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 20% Syrah, 10%
Carignan.

Chateau Ste Michelle Dr Loosen Eroica Riesling
(Washington)
Launched in 1999, Eroica is a labor of love for two of the world’s great Riesling producers. One from the Old World, Dr. Loosen estate of Germany, and the other from the New World, Chateau Ste. Michelle of Washington state. An intermingling of Old and New World philosophies and
techniques enables the crafting an extraordinary Riesling from Washington state grapes. Named for Beethoven’s Third Symphony, Eroica reflects not only its variety and site, but also its heritage: bold and forward from its Washington roots, elegant and refined from German inspiration.The Eroica Riesling exhibits aromas and flavors of white peach, grapefruit and sweet lime with subtle mineral notes. The mouth-watering acidity is beautifully balanced by flavorful Washington Riesling fruit. After more than a decade we have truly found our Eroica style, striving for beautiful bright fruit with crisp acidity and enhanced mineralilty.

Haras de Pirque Cabernet/Carménère
(Maipo, Chile)

Deep purple color. Aromatic in the nose, natural herbs and spiciness dominating the fresh flavor of this wine. Typical notes of Upper Maipo valley distinguish this blend, tobacco, earthiness and mineral notes. Complex, elegant and long lasting in the palate. Pairs with asian food, vegetables like avocado and asparagus and white meats like pork and chicken.

40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Carmenere, 10% Syrah, and 13% Cabernet Franc.

 

Premier Club

Witness Tree Vintage Select Willamette Valley Chardonnay
(Willamette Valley, Oregon)

This Chardonnay is a testimony to the excellence that results when the right wine-grape varietal is grown in the right place.  The 30-year old Chardonnay vines sit on a due-east exposure on a gently rising slope and afford our 2 acres of Chardonnay a host of benefits.  The Vintage Select Chardonnay is full-bodied and intense while remaining very well-balanced.  It offers notes of vanilla, honey and spice balanced by great acidity.  The finish lingers on and on… It will cellar exceptionally well for many years.

 

Rudi Schultz Syrah
(Stellenbosch, South Africa)

It was his first taste of top Rhône bottlings that inspired Rudi Schultz, winemaker at the heralded Thelema Mountain Vineyards, to pursue a winemaking career. So when he decided to create an eponymous label, Syrah was the natural varietal of choice. Grapes for Schultz’s dazzling bottling are sourced from a vineyard in the Bottelary Hills ward of Stellenbosch and vinified at Thelema. Hailed as a “small production gem” and a “delicious fruit-driven Syrah” that “maintain[s] a sense of freshness and minerality,” the wine has earned a 90+ Wine Spectator rave in every vintage since its 2002 debut.

This stunning Syrah boasts beautiful aromas of blackberry, black cherry, raspberry and pepper that follow through on the lengthy palate. Well integrated tannins and seductive hints of mocha, earth, and spice add to the complexity of this eponymous bottling from Thelema winemaker Rudi Schultz.

Anniversary Club Red

J. Lohr Anniversary Red
(Paso Robles, California)

J. Lohr’s 40th Anniversary Red Wine is a mélange of four varietals from different vineyards in the Paso Robles appellation that come together as a dense, bold blend that recalls J. Lohr’s very first wine produced—a 1974 Petite Sirah. Coming from vineyards surrounding the Paso Robles Wine Center, as well as our vineyards to the north near San Miguel and our vineyards to the south near Creston, we have combined our most popular varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon, with the density of Petite Sirah that thrives so well in the warm, dry climate of Paso Robles. For fruit and dimension, we have added Merlot and Malbec, which provide the finishing touches to this celebratory blend. Enjoy!

Each month the Fine Beer Club members receive $20 worth of beer in whatever configuration fits. We may include large format bottles, smaller bottles, six packs, even (gasp!) cans. Some are darker, some are lighter, but all in all it’s a great way to explore beers from international and domestic sources. Fine Beer Club is a variable number of bottles each month, in a huge range of beer styles, but always interesting and unique $20 worth of beer. Rare Beer Society is a subscription to special and rare craft beers for a true craft beer lover. Exclusively limited-release beers, can be a variable number of bottles not exceeding a total cost of $35 in one month. This club focuses on beers that have low-availability, special reserve series beers, and hard-to-find exclusives. Included will be vintage beers suitable for aging, perhaps beers that we have cellared to perfection at Enoteca, and beers that appeal primarily to advanced craft beer enthusiasts.

Ninkasi Critical Hit Barleywine 2012
(Eugene, Oregon)

Critical Hit: Does Maximum DamageIn the Ninkasi tradition, this barley wine is hopped to high heaven –using more than 16 pounds per barrel! Critical Hit’s rich, malty expression is balanced by 16 varieties of hops that linger on the palate. Its high gravity nature warms the cheeks and soul. Critical Hit does maximum damage, so you might have to roll to save if you take this ale for granted!

Tasting NotesMassive citrus, earthy, resinous, and grassy hop flavor is balanced with the melanoidin complexity of port and sherry notes, creating a powerful and warming taste experience. Big citrus, earthy, grassy, and pine hop aroma with port and sherry notes mingle in this beer conditioned for over a year. Aggressive bitterness dominates up front with a large array of hop flavor spanning citrus, earthy, resinous, grassy and dank. Subtle caramel and melanoidin compounds oxidize (in a good way) to create the port and sherry notes that are a trademark to these extremely strong beers called barley wine. The bitterness of the beer helps round out the intensity of alcohol and the malt complexity to make a non-cloying and very, very tasty beer. This may be the one beer that you still need to sip rather than quaff but it is deceptive for the style.

Trappist Engelszell Gregorious
(Engelszell, Austria)

The world’s 8th, and newest, Trappist Brewery!

The power of the tides

The Gregory shimmers in a strong dark maroon in the glass.
On the nose, herbal and licorice flavors dominate, which are backed by ripe fruit notes.  In Antrunk presents a strong Malzkörper, which is dominated by coffee and roasted flavors.  Local honey and an Alsatian wine yeast put a nice sweet and acidity on the palate.  Slightly bitter chocolate flavors accompany the warming finish this massive Trappistenbieres. Deep penetration – Thoughtful.

Autumn in the Danube Valley

Stone Xocoveza Mexican Mocha Stout
(Escondido, California)

This year’s winner of our American Homebrewers Association-sanctioned homebrewing competition, Chris Banker, helped keep us grounded to our homebrewing roots by introducing flavors consistent with our regional palate. His chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, chile pepper and coffee-infused milk stout was built to mimic the flavors of Mexican hot chocolate, a beloved specialty from our neighbors to the south, as our callaborators from Baja California, Cervezería Insurgente, will attest. Layered with tiers of earthiness, spice and roast, this creamy, semisweet blue-ribbon beer confirms that the spirit of the American homebrewer is not only alive and kicking, but thriving at an all-time high.
