$5 Drink Specials During the Party

We’re featuring Historic Mixed Drinks and some original party flavors for this event at special pricing.  Our regular drink menu contains many of the classic cocktails occasionally seen on the show, but we picked out a few stand outs to highlight some of the characters.  The Mad Men website even has a cocktail guide.

Roger Sterling – Pinnacle Gibson

Roger’s drink is the Gibson.  We’re mixing up a special Gibson for the man at the top, a.k.a. the Pinnacle, of his game.  Vodka, dry vermouth, onion.

Don Draper – Old Fashioned

Draper’s drink is the Old Fashioned, made with Canadian Club of course.  CC, Angostura, Sugar, Water, Orange, Morello.

Mad Men (Season 5)

Betty Draper – Key Lime Vodka Gimlet

Betty has been seen drinking a Gimlet, we’re working up one with Pinnacle Whipped Key Lime.  Key Lime Vodka, fresh Lime, Simple.

Joan Holloway – Cherry Blue Hawaii

Adding some red head to the classic 1957 drink, Joan has been seen drinking. Pinnacle Whipped Cherry Vodka, Pineapple, Blue Curacao.

Pete Campbell – Temper Temper

Cool one minute, fired up the next.  Like Pete.  Pinnacle Atomic Vodka, Rumchata.

Birthday Cake

Draper celebrates his 40th birthday in season five.  Pinnacle Cake Vodka, Vanilla, Half & Half, Sprinkles.

Note: Drink specials may change, we’re constantly testing and tasting to find the best combinations.

mad-men-partyCan I dress the part?

YES absolutely!  In fact, the network has a “Mad Men Party Guide” that gives tips on what to wear!  You’ll notice many of our drink specials are on the Party Guide’s cocktail list too.

Dean Opsal will be sporting a nice suit and a skinny tie, and our bar tending staff will be dressed the part.  We’d love it if you come dressed up, but please come either way.  Here are some quick and easy ideas to add some Mad Men style from the Party Guide.

There are even character masks.  You can download this PDF to print a mask of your favorite character.

It’s easy to work in a detail or two reminiscent of the period:

  • Get yourself a “hostess apron” to set that “happy homemaker” tone
  • Hats, hats, hats — whether it’s a fedora or a fascinator, you can’t go wrong
  • Eyewear — from sporty Wayfarers to classic browline frames, slip on a snazzy pair of specs
  • Go casual in clamdiggers and ballet flats or some country club-approved golf pants
  • How about a pencil skirt & matching twin-set or a white dinner jacket and bowtie?

How did Canadian Club become big news?

Don Draper has single handedly revived the Canadian Club brand.  His 1960’s era affinity draws on the popularity of the drink during that time, which has its roots in the Prohibition era.

During prohibition, with the manufacture and sale of alcohol still perfectly legal in Canada, American gangsters soon turned their eyes northward for product.

The Canadian Club distillery, located just over the border from Detroit soon became a favorite supplier for notorious Chicago gangster Al Capone.

It’s reported that 20,000 cases of Canadian Club Whisky were smuggled across the border every month during Prohibition.

Canadian Club sold the whisky for $7 per case to their customers, who in turn were reselling the illicit liquor in the U.S. for more than 10 times the price.
