pinkLiquid Geography Rose of Monastrell
(Portugal)

Liquid Geography is a Provence-style Rosé made from 20-25 year old vines located in the high elevation region of Bullas located in the Southeast of Spain where the Monastrell grape (aka Mourvèdre) originated. Liquid Geography is 100% unoaked.

All proceeds from the limited first release will be donated to the T.J. Martell Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds for innovative cancer research programs across the country.

This is a perfect refreshing quaffer the whole family will enjoy when paired with traditional Thanksgiving fixings.  It’s pink, but it’s not sweet!

(Washington)

New Price!  We were able to source this favorite again, this time with an even better price!

Wine maker Angie Shaltry lives and makes wine in Eagle, Idaho, and she sources fruit from all over the place.  This bottle is all from Washington State fruit, with more than one appellation included.  Angie apprenticed to Helen Turley the superstar wine maker from California.  We’re proud to have Angie here in Idaho and proud to share this amazing bottle of wine with you.  The label is fantastic too, unfortunately I don’t have a picture to share, so come in and see it for yourself!

Bigger and bolder, for the serious wine drinker on a budget, this food friendly wine will stand up the everything on the plate.

50% Cabernet Franc, 25% Syrah, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon

lanzaga-rioja

red-wineTelmo Rodriguez Lanzaga Rioja
(Rioja, Spain)

Lanzaga combines pure and intense fruit with a lovely elegance.  A blend of 90% Tempranillo, 7% Garnacha, and 3% Graciano, the grapes for Lanzaga come from slopes that are protected from erosion by the vineyard plantings. The vineyards are placed between 500 and 600 meters of altitude on plateaus over continental Miocene sandstone strata. These flat, stony, shallow soils offer low fertility and low water retention capacity, and force the bush-trained vines to struggle, ensuring low yields. After harvest, the wine is fermented in cement tanks and matured for 14 months in French oak foudres and new barrels.

“The 2008 Lanzaga was sourced from a biodynamically farmed Rioja Alavesa vineyard and is also a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Graciano aged in oak of various sizes for 14 months. It is a more brooding offering with enough structure to merit an additional 2-3 years of bottle age.” 90 Points Wine Advocate

“Supple in texture and complex in flavor, this is a firm, well balanced Rioja with fine depth and character. Finishes with light tannin and modest oakiness. In aroma/flavor, it tastes of spicy oak, cherry, pepper, tobacco, and red licorice. Excellent. 90% Tempranillo, 7% Garnacha, 3% Graciano.  Aged 14 months in oak barrels and casks, partially new.”  4+ Stars Restaurant Wine Magazine

“Bright ruby.  Pungent aromas of dried cherry and pipe tobacco, with hints of woodsmoke and vanilla in the background.  Chewy dark fruit flavors gain sweetness and weight with air and pick up a suave floral pastille nuance.  Finishes very long, with smooth tannins and lingering smoke and peppery spice qualities.” 90 Points International Wine Cellar

This is a high end option for those with a sophisticated palate.  The acidity and brightness from the Tempranillo is a perfect compliment for a refreshing beverage with a succulent meal.
