This Friday the 13th is your lucky day, because we’re hosting a Bogle Vineyards wine tasting from 4-7 pm. The amazing Debbie Keller will be here to share this delicious line-up of wine and answer questions about this high quality low priced brand. We’ll be pouring these wines Saturday too, from 12-7 pm. Check out all the wines we are opening up below. Glass pours are available, or taste them all for only $10! If you’ve never been to a wine tasting with us before, check out our What is Wine Tasting Like? page.
That’s right, we’re pouring 6 wines tonight!
Bogle Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Vibrant and fresh, the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc is easy to enjoy. Bogle winemakers use reductive winemaking techniques and cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks to create a classically-styled wine which captivates the true varietal essence of the grape.
Lively citrus zest and lemongrass notes color the nose, while the clean and and refreshing flavors of key lime and freshly cut grass are intensely aromatic. The mouthfeel, bracing with acidity, remains laced with touches of softer, enticing fruit. Finishing crisp and satisfying, this wine makes your mouth water for more!
Bogle’s Sauvignon Blanc is a great accompaniment to a wide range of appetizers and light dishes, especially fish and shellfish, spring greens, goat cheese and fruit salsas.
Bogle Chardonnay 2011
Generous aromas of fruit and toasty oak entice the senses as you first encounter this Chardonnay. Green apples and juicy pears give way to elegant hints of lemon meringue, and finish ripe and refreshing on the palate. Created by aging on the lees, the rich and velvety mouthfeel adds complexity to the fruit, allowing the flavors to sink softly into toasty notes of American oak. The finish, lingering and graceful, is coupled by a mouthwatering acidity that creates a longing for just one more sip.
Bogle Pinot Noir 2010
For our 2010 Pinot Noir, Bogle winemakers have again sourced fruit from the best growing regions in California for the varietal. The terriors of the cool Russian River Valley, coastal Monterey hills and the unique Clarksburg Delta all grow fruit of character and distinction. Combined, the resulting wine is nuanced, elegant and classically Pinot Noir.
Deeply garnet in color, radiant floral notes perfume the nose, leaving quite a first impression. Silky and smooth on the palate, the wine resonates with wild raspberries and rustic mint. Bright berry and cola tones trip alongside subtle lavender and vanilla, left behind by the impression of our French and American oak barrels. The delicate tannins create a refined, yet lingering finish. Served best with soft, ripe cheeses and unique pates, as well as saucy mushroom dishes, poultry and pork.
Bogle Merlot 2010
The long, cool growing season of 2010 produced Merlot grapes unparalleled in quality. Full-bodied and big, the resulting wine resonates with bright cherry and dried herbs on the nose. Rich flavors of black currants and a touch of summer fig combine with savory black pepper to create a wine mouthfilling and intense, yet silky smooth and approachable. After twelve months in American oak, the wine has a complex, developed palate that finishes with perfect acidity and a long, lingering finish. Our 2010 Merlot can easily be enjoyed on its own or with a multitude of different food pairings: soft cheeses and paté, pork or pasta dishes. Your imagination should be limitless.
Bogle Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Cabernet Sauvignon is a grape that takes its own sweet time, slowly lingering to ripen on the vine. We are rewarded by its reluctance.
Bogle winemakers have crafted an expressive example of this classic varietal. Richly extracted cherry and cassis arrest the senses, holding captive on both the nose and the palate. Swiftly followed by black pepper and black olive, the supple mouthfeel fills out this full-bodied wine. Spicy American oak heightens the dense fruit, finishing with wisps of ground pepper and stellar tannins. Cellar for another 7-10 years, but don’t let anyone say you can’t enjoy it now.
This well-balanced red wine can be savored with a variety of meat dishes, rich sauces or aged cheeses. Try a rib eye with blue cheese butter.
Bogle Essential Red 2009
A compelling blend of California’s finest plantings of Old Vine Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, this wine surpasses all expectation for pure enjoyment and approachability.
Calling on their years of experience and tradition, Bogle winemakers have delivered a wine with…
RICH, enticing layers of complexity, starting with that first irresistible sip.
RIPE fruit, intense with flavors of boysenberries and sweet cherries.
LUSCIOUS vanilla, caressing the palate from barrel aging in American and French oak.
JUICY and silky throughout, with a finish that lingers of black licorice and spicy pipe tobacco.
