Russell Said Beer, Sarah Said Wine
Sarah:
I hope everyone is ready for the snow. Ha, yes I said snow! I was just informed it might
be headed this way soon. Stop crying it will be OK. Do you know why? Because we are
pouring wines that will be $15 and under, this line up will impress the connoisseur and the
accountant! We will have locals such as Timberock along with a mixed bag of Italian and
South American wine as well. I especially love the spanish Castillo Almansa, it has been
my favorite for years at home and in the shop. I have faithful buyers that pick it up
weekly and it’s a steal at 11.99.
The Andre Brunel is a great choice for representing France. The name of this one is “Cuvée Sabrine” and it’s a Grenache/Syrah blend that earned 91 points and a Smart Buy from the Wine Spectator. I have a hard time appreciating French wine I must admit. I wish I could say “oh yes, had them all and love them!” but I can’t. Andre Brunel Sabine however, is just what I like. Some nice dark raspberry and fig notes with delicate spice and no harsh acid or tannin. Not a wimp either this wine is lovely with holiday food!
Come by and try the whole line up, a great chance to score some good wine for the upcoming holidays.
Russell:
Since we don’t have a brewery scheduled for November, we thought it would be fun to have a
Freestyle Beer Tasting with Holiday Beers! Next Wednesday, the 18th, show up anytime between
4 and 7, buy a beer here and share it. I will be doing so, and when a few people do so it
becomes a great time, and we all get to try something new. Sound like fun?
Sarah:
Has everyone signed up for the special wine and food tasting at Enoteca on Thursday November 19th?
If not, seats are limited so don’t wait. It will be a fun pairing of Thanksgiving appetizers
such as Turkey and Gouda paninis with cranberry relish and whipped sweet potatoes with brandy sauce.
I’ll also serve some other holiday staples with dessert to follow and each food will be
harmoniously paired with the perfect wine. Come join me and start the season with good
food, great wine and holiday cheer!
Russell:
Right now we have Laughing Dog Hop Dog Fresh Hop on tap, and December 10th Fred Colby and crew
are returning to Enoteca for a fantastic beer tasting event. There will be a 5pm and 7pm tasting.
So far, the 5 pm is filling up faster, who knows why, but get your tickets early!
By the way, the fastest way to know what’s new and on tap is by following
our Twitter feed and joining the Enoteca
FaceBook group, just so you know.
Drink to Help Your Fellow Man
Sarah:
With the year being tougher than shoe leather for everyone Enoteca has come up with a
way to help out families this year for Thanksgiving. Russell and I have chosen a handful
of wines and some beer, buy these selected beverages and 15% of the total will be
donated to feed the needy in Post Falls. We want to help local organizations who
tirelessly build Holiday baskets as they can and deliver them to struggling families.
Buy some wine and in turn you are helping fill goody baskets for families in need. Pretty sweet deal!
$15 and Under Wine Tasting This Weekend
Start the weekend out right at Enoteca – Fine Wine & Beer!
This Friday from 4-7 Enoteca will be sharing a selection of value wines, delicious and tasty selections that work for everyday enjoyment! We’ll be tasting these wines Saturday from 12-7 as well, which is a great time to beat the rush!
We want to give you the opportunity to “try before you buy” so we offer a flight of wine for a low cost. Taste a flight (2 oz. each of 6 wines) for $6 per flight, and follow up with a glass.
Six different wines from all walks of life will be on hand to show off what you can do for about $15 or less in a decent bottle of wine! Come taste the selections and see if anything suits your fancy.
Enoteca Fun Tasting Events Calendar
Mark your calendars for tastings at Enoteca – Fine Wine & Beer. Some are classroom format, which means we all sit down at the same time and can interact with the presenter with questions and whatnot. Our Friday & Saturday wine tastings are drop-in format, which means you can stop in any time during the tasting hours and try some excellent wine. We price our tastings to just break even on the quantity we pour for you, and our pours are quite a bit more than a typical winery tasting room experience. Join us for these excellent tasting events!Friday, November 13th – 4-7 pm [$10 flight, drop-in]
Just because the economy is affecting everyones wallets doesn’t mean we have to settle for grocery store wine! We’re going to the mattresses for this one, to find and root out those tasty gems from the various parts of the world they’ve been hiding. We will taste these wines on Saturday, November 14th as well, from 12-7.
Wednesday, November 18th – 4-7 pm [drop-in, share]
It’s simple: just show up buy a beer, and share it. The folks next to you will do the same
and you both get to try some new and interesting beer. Bring your friends!
We’re going to suggest an emphasis on Holiday Beers, though there are no requirements, so you can buy and share anything that you like. It happens to be holiday time, it just so happens that lots of fantastic holiday beers are currently available, so let’s try some of them together and make friends. That sounds like a good evening.

Thursday, November 19th – 7 pm [$20 food/flight, classroom]
Would you like to try something new with your holiday but are a little uneasy to buy a wine to only find out it’s a dud or at the very best didn’t go with the turkey and cranberries at all. This tasting will be a great way to answer your questions with out you having to spend money on scattered experimenting, I have run through a gamete of wines and have found a fabulous handful of them that will not only go well with the food but take the whole traditional Thanksgiving meal up a notch! I’ll serve the traditional thanksgiving fare in a delicious appetizer style. We’ll taste through six different wines and two beers that will open you up to new ideas for the holiday! So join me November 19th for the chance to explore what Thanksgiving is like Enoteca style!

Gilbert Cellars is hand crafting fantastic wines in Washington State without a ton of fanfare, without a “crafty” label, and with passion, finesse, and style.
