Wine Tasting this Weekend
Start the weekend out right at Enoteca - Fine Wine & Beer!
This Friday from 4-7 Enoteca will be sharing a delicious selection of wine to taste and enjoy. We want to give you the opportunity to “try before you buy” so we offer a flight of wine for a low cost! Taste a flight (2 oz. each of 4 wines) for $10 per flight, and follow up with a glass. We will be tasting Saturday from 12-7 as well, which is a great time to taste wine to beat the rush.
The color is a beautiful light straw. This wine is loaded with bright, tree-ripened peach, nectarine, and lemon meringue. Candied peach and vanilla define a richness that is in perfect balance. The finish is really amazing; it just keeps unfolding like that scarf trick that magicians do…
[Member: $35.99 / Retail: $39.99]
After the last bell of the day has rung and work is put away, everyone needs to take time to relax and enjoy life’s treasures. We have the perfect wine for these moments, Recess Red. You are never too old for Recess!
This hearty red wine is in part comprised of the hard press fractions of each of our vineyard lots, including some of our best vineyard sites. As a result, many customers view this table wine as the ‘bargain’ from L’Ecole Nº 41 (formerly known in the Pacific Northwest as Schoolhouse Red).
A fun, drink-me now table wine with fruity aromas of cherry, cranberry, plum and spice. The earthy tobacco flavors and soft tannins of this great food wine will have you reaching for a second glass.
[Member: $17.09 / Retail: $18.99]
The wine has a dense, purple core with a brilliant red rim. Black fruit is abundant in the nose followed closely by anise, chocolate and very pleasant touches of spice. Soft, lush and fragrant, Layer Cake Malbec is an intense mouthful of fruit-driven wine, finishing with very soft tannins. Delicious!
[Member: $15.29 / Retail: $16.99]
A complex mosaic of aromatics, rich fruit, and spice enters your palate and continues with a smooth, seamless texture throughout, with an exceptional, long finish. 1.5L magnums available, which make an impressive gift!
[Member: $42.29 / Retail: $46.99]

Long Shadows Vintners Tasting Event Was Great
Last Saturday Enoteca shared all seven of the Long Shadows Vintners wines with an enthusiastic crowd. We all had a great time and enjoyed the wines immensely. Here’s what we know about these wines after a thorough examination.
Poet’s Leap Riesling 2007
It’s very bright at this stage. It’s a dry style of Riesling with all kinds of fruit and mineral flavors through an extended finish. Right now we have 1/2 bottles (375 ml) of the 2007 available, and full size 2006 vintage available.
Saggi 2006
This is the most popular Long Shadows wine, a Super Tuscan blend that entices with it’s fruit and spice notes. A must-taste wine, and limited in availability. We still have a handful of bottles.
Chester-Kidder 2003
What a suprise! This wine is a great French style Bordeaux blend with some extras for good measure. I’ve tasted this several times over the last few years and the vintage we have in stock, 2003, is tasting incredible right now. The fruit flavors are coming forward in a way that doesn’t happen at a younger stage.
Feather Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Randy Dunn is famous for making long lived wines, and this is perhaps one of Washington State’s longest potential wines. The 2005 growing season was perfect, and matched with Dunn’s skill, the Feather Cabernet is showing all the makings of a wine that will be incredible in 10-20 years. Right now it’s still really tight, and isn’t releasing the fruit flavors. It’s still enjoyable now, but the real gem comes with patience. Buy some of these and put them away and forget about them.
The others were excellent as well, of course, but these stood out to me.
