Wine Tasting this Weekend
Start the weekend out right at Enoteca - Fine Wine & Beer!
This Friday from 4-7 Enoteca will be hosting Debbie Keller from IWM as she shares a delicious selection of Australian wine. We will be tasting Saturday from 12-7 as well, which is a great time to taste wine to beat the rush. Taste a flight (2 oz. each of 4 wines) for $10 per flight, and follow up with a glass.
Winemaker Louisa Rose creates this wine that is pale gold in colour with green hues. The aroma is intense white flowers - particularly honeysuckle - and hints of apricot nectar. The palate is rich and long, with citrus and tropical fruit flavours. This wine exhibits the typical Viognier texture - silky, rich and luscious with a lovely fresh finish.
90 Points James Halliday
[Member: $10.79 / Retail: $11.99]
This wine has a deep red/purple colour. Attractive aromas of super - ripe dark berry fruit with a hint of chocolate and a swirl of mint coming in behind. The palate is soft, rich and slurpable with tannins and acid married nicely with the ripe dark berry fruit flavours.
90 Points Tony Love
Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvedre, Tempranillo
[Member: $16.19 / Retail: $17.99]
ring.bolt Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 is full colour, deep red. Bouquet: The nose is typical of the Cabernet Sauvignon variety from a cool region. Layers of intensely flavoured ripe forest berries infused by dark chocolate with a suggestion of humus or earthiness. Palate: Loads of flavour with lots of dark fruits up-front melding with well seasoned oak on the mid-palate and finishing with velvety tannins and lingering berry nuances. Ringbolt is made for immediate drinking though it will continue to gain complexity with cellaring for up to five years. The wine would be well paired with flame grilled meats or Mediterranean cuisine.
91 Points Nick Stock & Tyson Stelzer
[Member: $15.29 / Retail: $16.99]
This wine is inky, deep red in colour, with aromas of black cherry, dark plums, vanilla and dark chocolate. The palate shows medium to full bodied ripe black cherry and plum fruit, subtle integrated vanillin oak with mocha richness. The fine grained talc-like soft tannins support a lingering finish. Can be enjoyed now or will improve with careful cellaring over the next 5-7 years. Suited to robust red dishes such as kangaroo, beef or lamb.
90+ Points The Wine Advocate, 90 Points Wine Spectator
100% Shiraz
[Member: $18.89 / Retail: $20.99]
This is a big, full-bodied Shiraz, showing colours of inky, deep red and purple hues. The nose displays ripe red/black fruit aromas, floral notes, strawberries, black cherry, raspberry, sweet fruity oak, charry and black pepper. The palate is rich and concentrated, with plummy, liquorice, cherry, blackberry and some charry, toasty oak. The tannins are finely grained and well integrated. Ideal to drink now or cellar for 5+ years.

Washington State has a secret weapon in the wine making world. Allen Shoup. Allen is the visionary behind
the Long Shadows project, which brings in the best wine makers in the world to make great Washignton State wines.
We love these wines so much we want to share them with as many people as possible.
Saturday June 14th, at 6:00 p.m., at Enoteca in Post Falls, we will be sharing all seven Long Shadows Vintners wines. Here is the list: Poet’s Leap Riesling, Chester-Kidder, Pirouette, Sequel Syrah, Saggi, Pedestal Merlot, and of course the Feather Cabernet Sauvignon. 2 oz. of each wine will be poured. This is a unique opportunity as these wines are extremely limited in nature and this is the only time of year we can get them all together in one place. As with all of our tasting events, the ticket price is simply to cover the cost of pouring the wine. The tasting starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 14th. Tickets to attend are $35 per seat, paid in advance. Only 20 seats are available to this event. For complete details regarding the Long Shadows Vintners tasting event, click here. Club members can have tickets simply added to their Bin, and anyone can order tickets by coming into Enoteca in Post Falls, calling us at 208-457-9885 or sending us email at service@corkjoy.com . |
