Impress Your Valentine

Valentine Wine Enoteca is putting on a special Sweetheart Tasting event on Valentines Day, Thursday, February 14th. This is a great way to start out your special evening with that special someone. Here are the features, besides soft jazz music, and candlelight: Tasty Appetizers Baked Brie Bagel crisps with ricotta chive puree and prosciutto Chocolate covered strawberries Raspberry framboise (a fortified wine) brownies Wine Tasting List Tre Donne Moscato di’ Asti Pure Love (brand) Layer Cake Terra Valentine Cabernet Sauvignon Stag’s Leap Petite Sirah Trentadue Chocolate Amore The wine included is 2 oz. of each wine. This event will be from 4-6 pm, and you can come anytime just like a typical Friday or Saturday wine tasting. Please make reservations in advance. The price for this event is $49.99 per couple. Renwood Winery Wine Tasting

Start the weekend out right at Enoteca – Fine Wine & Beer! This Friday from 4-7 Enoteca will be hosting Kevin Olsonberg as he shares a selection of Renwood winery wines. We will be tasting Saturday from 12-7 as well. Taste a flight (2 oz. each of 4 wines, 1 oz. of the port) for $10 per flight, and follow up for $5 per glass (5 oz. pour). White Wine Red Label Pinot Grigio 2006 (Lodi, California) – The 2006 Pinot Grigio is pale straw in color. Aromas of citrus blossom dominate. The entry is bright with good acidity and balance. The wine finishes with a combination of fruit and floral flavors which help to round out the lightweight texture on the palate. This is a perfect wine with light pasta and fish entrees. 87% Pinot Grigio, 7% Roussane, 5% Vermentino, 1% Viognier [Member: $9.89 / Retail: $10.99] Red Wine Amador Barbera 2004 (Amador County, California) – The 2004 Barbera is a brick red color and displays aromas of raspberry and chocolate. Moderate acidity with a soft mouthfeel are the hallmarks of the short hot season, Scents of vanilla and caramel flavors from the small oak barrel aging complement the fruit aromas and flavors. Approachable now, this is a very nice wine to drink young. 100% Barbera [Member: $20.69 / Retail: $22.99] Red Wine Sierra Foothills Zinfandel 2005 (Sierra Foothills, California) – The 2005 Sierra Foothills Zinfandel displays aromas of cherry, plums and nutmeg. The flavors mirror the aromas and give the wine a fresh fruit flavor with a spicy aftertaste. This lighter style of Sierra Foothills Zinfandel is smooth and luscious. [Member: $9.89 / Retail: $10.99] Red Wine Old Vines Zinfandel 2004 (Amador County, California) – The 2004 Old Vine Zinfandel is comprised of the best selection of Old Vine vineyard lots in the valley, each adding its own nuance and complexity to the final blend. The 2004 Old Vine Zinfandel is dark ruby in color. The bouquet consists of cranberry, allspice, nutmeg and blackberry compote. The flavor has ripe berry fruit on the entry, following with the medley of holiday spices, and finishing with chalky tannins and the vanilla bean from the American oak. [Member: $17.09 / Retail: $18.99] Port Renwood Port (Sierra Foothills, California) – This Port was made from the traditional Portuguese varietals Tinta Cao, Alvarahao, Souzao, Bastardo and Touriga. Renwood’s founder, Robert Smerling, has a deep passion for wine and cigars that made us take a traditional approach to Port. The five classic Portuguese varieties used by Renwood Winery flourish in the Sierra Foothills. [Member: $16.19 / Retail: $17.99] Pricing disclaimer.

Hales Ales Tasting Event with Bill Prieb

Hales Ales Beer Tasting Thursday, February 21st Beginning at 7 p.m. Taste 4-5 or so beers Only $10 per person Notice the later-than-usual start time for this tasting event. The February Beer Tasting is “All Hail Hales Ales”! Enoteca is hosting Bill Prieb from Hales Ales as he shares a selection from Hales’s lineup starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 21st. Tickets to attend are $10, paid in advance. Attendees will receive a beer glass and most importantly, learn about, and taste, more great beer! Hospice Fundraiser Review and Thank You

The North Idaho Hospice fundraiser wine tasting was last weekend on Saturday evening. Russell & Sarah from Enoteca were privledged to join the event and pour some excellent wine for the donating guests. Thank you to Brett and Jenny Terrell, Wine Club Members Bin #222 for allowing us to participate in the wine selection for the auction. Thank you to Kelly and Mike Aageson Wine Club Members Bin #31 for donating, and thank you to any others who donated. Also a shout out to Wine Club Members we saw at the event, Gwyn Bin #28, John and Joyce Bin #16, and Kevin Bin #100. Those who attended the event had the opportunity to taste an excellent array of wine! The silent and live auctions gave donors the opportunity to win, including an Instant Wine Cellar, and help with a good cause at the same time. Tasting Events Coming Soon

Mark your calendars; Enoteca has a great lineup for the next few weeks. Join us for these excellent tasting events! More details will be available in this newsletter, as well as any changes that might come up. Red Wine Friday, February 8th – 4-7 pm – Renwood Winery with Kevin Olsonberg. Come taste a great selection of this California wineries wines, including big Zinfandels! We will taste these wines on Saturday, February 9th as well, from 12-7. Red Wine Thursday, February 14th – 4-6 pm – Find true love with our special Valentines day wine tasting event. See the newsletter for additional details. Red Wine Friday, February 15th – 4-7 pm – Bonny Doon Vineyards wines with Darin Roberson. Taste this exciting lineup of fun and quirky wines with playful labels. We will taste these wines on Saturday, February 16th as well, from 12-7. Beer Thursday, February 21st – 7 pm Hales Ales Beer Tasting with Bill Preib. Taste a handful of great brews from Hales Ales of Seattle, Washington, complete with the knowledgeable Bill Prieb to guide your tasting experience. Only $10 per person, register in advance. Red Wine Friday, February 22nd – 4-7 pm – Barrister Winery with wine maker! Barrister Winery of Spokane is making some of the area’s most sought after top notch wines. Either Greg Lipsker or Michael White, and possibly both, will be on hand to show their wine and sign bottles. Come meet one or two of the attorney/wine makers on Friday February 22nd, and taste a great selection of their wines! We will taste these wines on Saturday, February 23rd as well, from 12-7.
