Holiday Wine Tasting This Weekend with Dustin Lewis

Start the weekend right with Enoteca - Fine Wine & Beer! This Friday from 4-8 Enoteca will be hosting Dustin Lewis as he shares an exciting selection of wines. We will be tasting Saturday from 12-8 as well. Taste a flight (2 oz. each of 5 wines) for $10 per flight, and follow up for $5 per glass (5 oz. pour).
Sawbuck
Sawbuck is slang for a US $10 bill. You can trade a “Sawbuck” for either of these “Sawbucks.” More information on the term Sawbuck can be found here. White Wine Sawbuck Chardonnay 2005 (Mendocino County, California) - Aromas of crisp green apple and spice with hints of vanilla toast and butter stay consistent with the flavors. This chardonnay is crisp in the palate with lingering flavors of honey and lemon. [Member: $9.89 / Retail: $10.99] Red Wine Sawbuck Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 (Mendocino County, California) - Aromas of red raspberries and dusty chocolate are prevalent with hints of toasty oak and spice. This Cabernet Sauvignon is soft in the palate with layers of berries, cocoa, spice and silky tannins. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot [Member: $9.89 / Retail: $10.99] Red Wine Foppiano Petite Sirah 2004 (Russian River Valley Estate Vineyards, California) - Petite Sirah, although it has a similar sounding name to Syrah, is not the same type of wine. The Petite Sirah grape is an entirely different grape! This is full-bodied and deeply colored. In the nose, the Petite offers black fruit aromas, which are well met on the palate with blackberry and blueberry flavors, as well as toasty vanilla, exotic spices, and hints of cocoa on the finish. Foods to serve with this wine include red meat dishes, hearty pastas, full-flavored cheeses, roasted pork, or roasted wild boar. 91 Points Wine & Spirits (October 2007) [Member: $17.99 / Retail: $19.99] Red Wine Jessie’s Grove Earth Zin & Fire 2005 (Lodi, California) - A performance filled with upbeat and jammin’ flavors of blackberry and strawberry fields forever. Groovin’ with a deep bass of silky chocolate and high notes of spice. This wine has a deep opaque red-purple color and an intense nose, with forward fruit and a dense, jammy quality to the berry flavors hinted with exotic spice. Soft tannins and a smooth finish round out this flavorful Old Vine Zin. [Member: $11.69 / Retail: $12.99] Red Wine Matchbook Blockhouse Red Blend 2004 (Dunnigan Hills, California) - A big, bold red wine with black cherry, spice and a lingering vanilla finish. Syrah adds rich flavors and aromas of black cherry and blueberry; the Spanish varietal Tempranillo adds spicy red berry fruit flavors; the Bordeaux varietals Malbec and Petit Verdot add depth and structure to the wine. 57% Syrah-(7% Napa), 29% Tempranillo, 7% Malbec, 7% Petit Verdot [Member: $18.99 / Retail: $17.09] Pricing disclaimer.
